A warm welcome to those students who will be joining us in September 2025. We are delighted to welcome you as part of the Fortis Family and can't wait to see you.
This page contains information to help our new students who will be joining Fortis Academy in September 2025. Starting at secondary school can sometimes feel a little daunting and we want to ensure your transition is as smooth as possible and make sure that you feel happy and confident in your new school.
We are in regular contact with feeder Primary schools and are finding out lots about the students that are joining us in September. We aim to visit most of the schools to meet the staff and students face-to-face.
Our induction programme is detailed below, along with copies of information which has been sent to parents.

Primary School Visits. Our transition staff will be visiting as many of our feeder Primary schools as possible and meeting with staff and students to introduce Fortis and learn about them.

Tuesday 1st July 2025 6.00 – 7.00pm |
Induction Evening. Parents are invited to attend an Induction Evening, along with their child, where you will be given information about Fortis Academy. You will also have an opportunity to meet key members of staff and the Leadership Team. Uniform suppliers will be in attendance from 4.30 – 6.00pm where you will be able to order or purchase our uniform. The Headteacher will address parents at 6.00pm.

Induction Day. All students joining Fortis Academy in September will spend a day in school so that they can experience life at secondary school. They will meet their Edge tutors and participate in some exciting team building activities. They should wear the uniform that they would normally wear when attending their Primary school. They may either bring sandwiches for lunch or alternatively a free meal will be provided for them.
